Know the door
Therapy or coaching
These words get used as if they were the same job. They are not. On this hub the split is simple: therapy is clinical. Advantage Coaching is not. Therapist Front Page is educational writing, and it is neither of those doors.
This page does not sell a package and does not list coaching prices. Those are not published here. If you need a therapist, go to Advantage Mental Health. If you are a clinician who wants paid practice help, go to Advantage Coaching.
What therapy is
Therapy (psychotherapy) is clinical work. A licensed clinician meets with you about mental health. Depending on the setting, that can include assessment, a diagnosis when one is warranted, a treatment plan, and progress notes. There is a clinical record. There are rules about privacy and about when privacy has to break (harm, abuse, and a few other legal exceptions).
Therapy can be paid in different ways. Some people use insurance. Some people pay out of pocket. Some offices are in network. Some are out of network and will give you a receipt to try for reimbursement. Insurance is possible in therapy because therapy is healthcare. That does not mean every therapist takes every plan. It means the work is the kind of work insurance sometimes covers.
If you are looking for someone to talk with about sleep, relationships, overwhelm, grief, parenting, or a life that has gotten too heavy, you are usually looking for therapy. That door, for this family of practices, is Advantage Mental Health.
What Advantage Coaching is
Advantage Coaching is nonclinical consulting for licensed and pre-licensed mental-health professionals. The subject is the practice as a business and a set of systems: setup, credentialing, billing, marketing, referrals, hiring, compliance, automation. The subject is not your childhood, your marriage, or a diagnosis.
Coaching here is not patient care. There is no diagnosis. There are no clinical records. There is no insurance billing for treatment, because there is no treatment. If a clinician writes about a hard week in a consult, that is still not therapy. The container is different on purpose, so nobody pretends a business meeting is a session.
This is one-on-one consulting and practice audits. It is not a packaged course on this page. Session length, pricing, and packages are not listed here because they are not being invented for a website. If you want that walkthrough, you write and ask.
What this site is
Therapist Front Page is an educational hub. You can read articles. You can use a short educational check-in. You can send a page to a friend. You are not a patient of this website. Completing a check-in does not open a chart. Reading about insurance does not enroll you in a plan.
That matters because people sometimes treat a helpful article like a substitute for a person. An article can get you oriented. It cannot sit in the room with you.
A few mix-ups that keep happening
Life coaching versus therapy. Plenty of people market “coaching” for anxiety, trauma, or relationships. That is a different industry than Advantage Coaching. If someone is offering to treat a mental-health condition and they are not licensed to do that, you are in the wrong room. Ask what license they hold, and in what state.
A therapist who also consults. The same human can hold both jobs. The jobs still do not merge. Mason Anglin is a therapist at Advantage Mental Health and a consultant at Advantage Coaching. Those are separate containers. You do not get a diagnosis in a coaching consult. You do not get a credentialing walkthrough in a therapy hour.
Testing. Psychological testing is a third thing. ADHD and autism testing, diagnostic clarification, and related evaluations are not this site and not Advantage Coaching. Testing is through Cogniscribe Psychology.
“I want tools, not a person.” Then read the library. If the tools are not enough, that is information, not a failure. The next step is a person, which is therapy, not a more intense worksheet.
