Why this exists
“ADHD isn’t a lack of attention. It’s trouble steering it.”
When researchers looked at the 100 most popular ADHD videos on TikTok, about half were rated misleading (Yeung et al., 2022). Some of it is harmless. Some of it keeps people from help that works, or sells them “fixes” that don’t. This course is the answer: built the way ADHD brains like to learn, with short levels, big visuals, quick wins, and a progress bar so you can feel yourself moving.
Three promises. Every factual claim has a numbered source you can look up. You’ll hear when the evidence is thin, even when the idea is popular. And there is zero shame here: ADHD isn’t a character flaw. It’s a difference in how a brain regulates itself, and that’s workable.
Built to binge
Every level has the same game board, so your brain always knows what’s next.
- Level openers with what you’ll unlock, how long it takes, and the “boss myth” you’re about to beat
- Myth vs fact cards: the internet’s greatest hits, checked against the research
- Quick wins you can use in under five minutes
- Evidence meters from “doesn’t hold up” to “strong” for therapy, skills, and the products you see advertised. Medication isn’t rated
- “Your turn” prompts: short write-in questions that connect an idea to your own life
- 2-minute summaries: the whole level in five bullets
- “Try this tonight”: one small, low-effort experiment per level
- Checkpoints: three quick questions, answers printed upside down
- Progress bars and level-complete stamps. Yes, it’s a little silly. Yes, it works.
Pick your mode
- Hyperfocus bingeCover to cover in one or two sittings. Grab a snack and some water first, and set a timer to stand up.
- Snack modeRead only the level openers and the 2-minute summaries. That takes about 30 minutes and gives you the skeleton of everything.
- Need help today?Jump straight to Level 07 (systems) or Level 10 (your operating manual).

A peek at the report card
The course grades the options you see advertised, using the fairest tests available, like blinded ratings where the person scoring you doesn’t know which treatment you got. A few of the grades, as printed in the course:
| Option | Grade |
|---|---|
| DBT-informed skills groupsA trial of 121 adults found a DBT-based group improved executive-function scores more than usual care, and gains held at 6 months. | Good |
| If-then plansStrong in general populations; promising for kids with ADHD; adult ADHD trials are still needed. | Good |
| External scaffolding (planners, lists, reminders)A core ingredient of CBT programs with good trial evidence. | Good |
| MindfulnessMedium effects vs waitlist, but low or negligible vs active controls. | Mixed |
| ADHD coachingEarly studies look promising, but they were uncontrolled. | Thin |
| Body doublingHugely popular, but no published controlled trials were found. The evidence is anecdotal. | Thin |
| NeurofeedbackA 2025 meta-analysis of 38 trials found no meaningful benefit on blinded ratings. | Doesn’t hold up |
| Brain-training appsYou get better at the games, but that doesn’t carry over to ADHD symptoms on blinded ratings. | Doesn’t hold up |
| “Focus” and “dopamine” supplementsNo good randomized trials support them for ADHD, and supplements can interact with medications. | Doesn’t hold up |
About medication. Medication gets its own level: the main classes in plain words, how you and your prescriber can tell whether something is helping, safety topics to bring up (heart, mood, pregnancy, misuse), shortages and refills, and questions for your prescriber. The course doesn’t rate, rank, or compare medications, and there is no dosing guidance on purpose.
Who it’s for
Made for
- Adults with ADHD, whether you were diagnosed as a kid, last year, or are still wondering
- Late-diagnosed adults, including women and people who mask
- Anyone getting ready for an adult ADHD assessment: Level 10 has a timeline worksheet to bring along
- Anyone getting ready for a prescriber visit: there’s a prescriber-prep worksheet with questions and observation notes
- The people who love someone with ADHD
Not made for
- Getting a diagnosis. Nothing here can tell you whether you have ADHD; only a qualified professional can, after a proper assessment
- Dosing or medication advice. Decide on anything medication-related with your prescriber
- Legal advice. Level 09 covers your rights at work in general terms only
- A guide to children’s ADHD. It’s written for adults
- A crisis. If you’re in danger, call or text 988 or your local emergency number now
How it was researched
- A summary of current research and guidelines, including NICE NG87, the CADDRA guidelines, and the World Federation of ADHD international consensus statement.
- 72 numbered sources. Every one was checked against PubMed, the DOI system/Crossref, or the source’s official website in October 2026.
- Evidence is graded on five levels: strong, good, mixed, thin, and doesn’t hold up. The grades are the author’s summary of the research quality, not an official rating system. Medication is not graded.
- No diagnostic manual text and no copyrighted questionnaire items are reproduced. Screeners like the ASRS are named only.
- Research changes. This edition reflects studies available as of October 2026.

Education, not diagnosis or treatment. This course is not medical, psychological, or legal advice, it can’t tell you whether you have ADHD, and reading it doesn’t create a therapist–client relationship. Medication information is general and doesn’t include dosing; make treatment decisions with a qualified clinician who knows you. It is not a substitute for care.
